This map produced in 1923 shows the full extent of Lower Green, it can clearly be seen that More Lane was previously known as Lower Green Lane. Development was sparse with Mill Lane, an un identified road (Farm Road), Lower Green Road and Douglas Road. In John Rocque’s map of 1762 you can see Lower Green’s More Lane, Lower Green Road, the River Mole and the River Ember. A prominent feature on the map is the Esher Wire Mill, off Mill Lane. Also visible is an orchard and cottages.
